Alcohol Ink Paintings
Hours spent playing and exploring the jagged rocks of the Burren and watching the ebb and flow of the Atlantic Ocean occupy many of my childhood memories. I enjoyed my playground in the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, the feel of rock beneath my hands and feet, the wind in my face and the smell of sea air. These memories of land and sea have become the subjects I am most drawn to, and they continue to develop and evolve further each time I return to my childhood home.
The medium of Alcohol Ink lends itself perfectly to my work. With their free flowing, and sometimes unexpected qualities, they allow me to investigate the push and pull I associate with this rugged landscape and powerful seascape.
